Conco Inc., a leader in the commercial construction industry is seeking an experienced Hotel Construction Superintendent to manage hotel projects in the Kansas & Mid-West geographic area.

This position is responsible for both site and construction supervision on hospitality/hotel projects of up to 15 million and requires 100% travel throughout the Kansas and Mid-West region.

Duties/Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overall management of construction related activities to include but not limited to pre-construction/safety planning, craft-trades personnel, sub-contractors, quality control, review of drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals. Directs all contractors with the planning and execution of contract work, interpretation of plans, and specifications. Responsible for monitoring work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to plans and specifications/ construction schedules. Interacts and corresponds with project managers, sub-contractors, and client representatives throughout project with respect to schedule, finishes, modifications, specifications and general issues. Responsible for the final finishing/closeout of projects, generating punch lists, performing owner walk-through inspections, and turning over the project.

Qualifications (Education/Experience) Required

Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a construction superintendent managing commercial/multifamily projects (hotels, dorms, hospitals) from the ground-up with values ranging up to $15 million. Ideal candidates must possess extensive working knowledge and ability to read and understand specifications for all trades and construction including, but not limited to carpentry (wood frame), concrete, structural steel, FF&E installation, MEP installation, and interior build-outs.

In addition to demonstrated leadership ability, this position requires knowledge of job scheduling, planning, and cost control. Competency in MS Office, MS Word, and MS Excel is required.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or other construction related field is preferred. This position requires 100% travel throughout the Kansas and Mid-West region.
