WICHITA, Kan., May 8, 2024 — Effective immediately, Conco Construction has named Ryan Pearson president and Aaron Korte senior vice president of operations. In their transition to principal executives responsible for Conco’s day-to-day operations, they bring a heightened focus on the values that built Conco, restoring the company’s focus to self-perform work within a region that best meets client needs. With this leadership change, Craig Nelson, former president and CEO, transitions to CEO and chairman of the board.

Pearson, a Kansas State graduate, has spent the past 25 years overseeing business operations management for large regional companies. He has been with Conco since 2019, most recently in the role of vice president of operations. With considerable strategic, fiduciary and business acquisition experience, he brings strong business acumen and a 360-degree view of best-practice growth strategy to the company and board. Leveraging his deep background in organizational culture development and top performance, he is highly focused on positioning Conco for the future.

Korte has been with Conco since 2006, serving as director of field operations for the past seven years. With a degree in Construction Engineering Technology from Pittsburg State University, he has led large and complex construction projects while also successfully managing Conco’s self-perform operations. Like Pearson, he brings a strategic viewpoint to the company and keen understanding of the people and competencies needed to exceed client expectations. Heavily involved in recruitment at the college level, Korte recruits individuals who will think like an owner and prioritize a client’s best interests from day one on the job.

“Guiding, supporting and leveraging team members like Ryan and Aaron has been a top priority,” said Nelson. “Right fitting these two gentlemen to these roles is a pinnacle moment for me personally, and I have full faith they will continue to successfully lead Conco into the future.”

Established in 1975, Conco Construction is a 100-percent, employee-owned company serving the region with over 200 employees. Using its own labor force to complete certain aspects of a project, Conco self-performs more trades than any general contractor in the area. Conco’s “Cool to be Blue” platform, launched in 2014 to recruit young talent, spotlights the skilled craftsman, a central figure in the American dream to own, invest, build, and prosper.
