The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kansas recently announced the recipients of the 2025 State Building Awards, recognizing the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater at Exploration Place with the Award of Honor in the new construction projects valued up to $6 million category.

Exploration Place staff partnered with Garver USA and Conco Construction to complete the 1,500-capacity open-air amphitheater. The outdoor space promotes a vibrant, bustling atmosphere along the river and features year-round outdoor programming and community events.

This expansion is unlike anything Wichita has seen before and sets the standard for all future development along the downtown river corridor.
