Conco Construction Welcomes Crain Co. as Its New Owner

WICHITA, Kan. — Effective January 30, 2026, Conco executed an agreement to be acquired by Crain Company, a Wichita-based equity group with a strong understanding of the local construction market and a shared commitment to quality, integrity, and people-first leadership.
“After 50 years, it was important to find the right partner—one that respects what Conco stands for and where we’re headed,” said D Craig Nelson, former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Conco Construction. “This transition ensures the company remains strong for the long term while preserving the culture, values, and reputation our team has built.”
Under the new ownership structure, Conco’s current leadership team will remain in place, with Ryan Pearson transitioning from President to CEO and President and continue to manage the company’s day-to-day operations. Clients, partners, and employees can expect the same leadership, same workforce, and the same commitment to high-quality, self-performed construction services.
“Crain Company’s local presence and long-term approach made them a natural fit,” added Ryan Pearson, CEO and President of Conco Construction. “They recognize that Conco’s success is driven by its people and are committed to supporting our team as we continue to grow.” Graham Crain will serve as Chairman of the Board of Conco Construction, providing governance support while the existing leadership team continues to lead day-to-day operations.
“Conco has earned its reputation by doing things the right way and by investing in its people,” said Graham Crain, Chairman of the Board. “Our role is to support the leadership and team that built this company, respect the culture they’ve created, and help position Conco for continued success.”
Conco will continue operating under its existing name and brand, with no changes to its services, leadership structure, or operational focus. The partnership provides additional resources to support strategic growth while maintaining the standards and relationships that have defined Conco for five decades.
