Job Description

Conco Construction, a self-performing regional leader in the commercial construction industry is seeking a Manager of Yard Operations.  A successful candidate will have the proven ability to manage and lead the logistics of construction related equipment fleet and shop operations.  This position will provide oversight of Conco Construction’s large equipment fleet that supports our self-performing trades such as iron work, masonry, carpentry, and concrete. Conco has a multi-bay shop operation with the overall goal of creating a customer-focused environment that contributes to Conco Construction’s profitability. The right candidate will feel at home in Conco Construction’s fast-paced, high-energy environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy and infrastructure to manage Conco’s heavy equipment utilization
  • Drive and implement a technology tool to efficiently manage logistic operations
  • Oversee asset inventory on a regular basis to ensure accountability and productivity
  • Facilitate the RTR process to ensure assets are ready when needed
  • Manage yard operations team
  • Advise customers on equipment availability to fit current and future production needs
  • Monitor utilization of assets
  • Maintain a professional and organized yard at all times

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ work experience in a supply chain, logistics or asset management environment
  • Experience managing logistics, including fleet schedules
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience implementing technology to improve processes
  • Familiarity with Microsoft outlook suite (word, excel)

Preferred Skills/ Experience:

  • Rental Equipment Experience
  • Experience Managing a Yard
  • Knowledge of DOT trucking standards
  • Experience with construction equipment
  • Equipment management software
