Project Kickoff: Central Community Church Chapel

Rachel Hauber

Our crews started work on the Chapel at Central Community Church last week! This project is the first phase of the future Central Landing community planned for the church. Conco has worked with SPT Architecture and the church for many months to plan and design this project and everyone is excited to see demolition begin and construction to follow. By this time next year the church will have a new chapel venue to celebrate weddings and special events!

Project Kickoff: Botanica Carousel

Rachel Hauber

We are thrilled to share we recently celebrated the groundbreaking for the Botanica Carousel project! Many of you may remember the historic carousel that used to be a fan favorite at Joyland. Its owner generously donated the merry-go-round, which is one of only five remaining Allan Herschell Carousels in the world, and it will be housed in a pavilion within the Botanica grounds. We will keep you updated as work progresses on this special project!

Project Spotlight: Uptown Landing

Rachel Hauber

We are excited to share that the Uptown Landing project recently completed and is now in the leasing phase. The project was a great success and utilized all of Conco’s self-peforming trades at some point in the project. We are currently finishing out the Vora Restaurant space on the corner and expect to be starting some other tenant improvements in the first floor commercial space soon!

Rachel Hauber

We are so excited to share the completion of the Technology and Innovation Center at Cowley College’s new Sumner Campus! This campus has been a long-time goal for the school and we’re honored to be a part of helping them bring higher education to the Wellington Community. The Technology and Innovation Center is a pre-engineered metal building that houses classrooms and an IT Lab. Just to the north of it is the Short General Education Center we are working on that will open in the fall of 2019 where the campus’ bookstore, community center room and administrative offices will be.

Project Update: Winfield Rotary Stage and Island Park

Rachel Hauber

Back in May we first shared that we had broke ground on the Winfield Rotary Stage and Island Park. It’s now been a little over a month and look at the amazing progress our talented crews have made! Our guys are continuing work on the stone walls at the pavilion and they recently finished erecting the structure, which features 2×8 tongue and groove decking over curved structural beams.

Conco was asked to partner with the Winfield Rotary to make this project become a reality. We’ll share more pictures once the project is finished and keep everyone in the loop regarding concerts and events. Our work in Winfield and Cowley County dates back to the 1970s. We’re proud of our history in the region and are excited to add this project to the list!

Project Kickoff: WAA Terminal Deconstruction

Rachel Hauber

Our crews recently started the process of deconstructing the old terminal building at Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport. This project will be unique because it is a mix of deconstruction, demolition, addition and renovation. The first phase includes rerouting hydronic piping, relocating a 15 foot tall Magic Flight Sculpture and relocating the airport’s main data room to another facility. Work is underway and we will keep everyone updated on our progress!

Project Spotlight: Air Capital Interiors

Rachel Hauber

Our crews are hard at work preparing a site for Air Capital Interiors that will house a 10,000 square foot building that they will use to manufacture high quality airplane interiors. Dirt work is well underway with footings to follow in the near future. The exterior of the structure is made of 25 foot tall precast panels that will ensure a long lasting building.
