Project Spotlight: Viega Logistics – ProPress II – Tool Room

Rachel Hauber

Conco crews are wrapping up finishing touches on the ProPress II facility and the Tool Room at the Viega complex. At over 200,000 square feet, ProPress II will be used primarily to manufacture special metal fittings. Work continues to progress on the Logistics building and should be complete mid Spring. It’s been a pleasure to partner with Viega over the past several years as they continue to expand! We recently started renovations on their corporate headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado and their complex in McPherson has grown significantly since our initial partnership as they continue to increase domestic capacity.

Millwork will continue for the duration of summer and the church pews will be installed in early September. Our mason crew is finishing up stone veneers at the courtyard walls and we’ll be sharing photos of the exterior wedding courtyard once it is finished this fall!

Project Spotlight: DCCCA Rehabilitation Remodel

Rachel Hauber

Conco crews are hard at work remodeling the local DCCCA rehabilitation center. The Douglas County Citizens Committee on Alcoholism recovery center will provide social and community services to help improve the safety, health, and well-being of women and men in need from substance abuse. They will also have a foster care program in the facility.

We are currently working on new flooring, ceilings and other finishes to create a day care area. The remaining areas of the facility will have extensive work on the electrical and mechanical systems. We will also be building a 4,600 square foot playground area with new fencing.

Project Update: Tommy’s Car Wash

Rachel Hauber

Our team has been busy these past few months working on the new Tommy’s Car Wash and the structure is now complete. Crews are working diligently to enclose the building to prepare for interior finishes and equipment installation! For the exterior, our crews are preparing to pour the drive lanes and parking area. The exit lane of the car wash will have radiant tube heating installed in the concrete all the way to the street so that as water runs out of the car wash, it will not freeze in the winter. Stay tuned for completed project photos to come!

Project Spotlight: Cowley College Sumner Campus

Rachel Hauber

We’re excited to share the new Cowley College Sumner Campus located on 18 acres in Wellington recently completed construction! This project included the design of a large outdoor student gathering plaza connecting the two initial buildings. The Short General Education Center is a 24,000 square foot, three-story building and is the hub of the campus. The campus bookstore is located here, as well as a main dining area, student gathering and social area, tutoring and student resource, classrooms, lecture spaces, faculty offices, conference rooms, and a large community room.

The Technology and Innovation Center (shown below) is a 17,000 square foot pre-engineered building housing instructional spaces for information technology, agriculture and welding. An accelerated design-build schedule meant that less than 18 months after beginning design, the College began teaching in their new facility. We were honored to partner with Agora Architecture and Cowley College to create this campus!
